Connect

to communicate with;

to relate to; to join,

unite, or bind

The birth of a baby is an experience of connection unlike any other time. New parents are often amazed at the feelings that accompany becoming a mother or father for the first time. Most experience this transition as an exciting and joyfilled journey, but many families also experience the challenges of this uncharted territory as well and need to find connections…to people, to places, to resources that will make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone.

Baby Place families tell us over and over that they find connection and community while they are with us and we know this is because our definition and value of family is expressed in the care we give not just to the mothers, but also the fathers-to-be.

“The guys who fear becoming fathers don’t understand that fathering is not something perfect men do, but something that perfects the man. The end product of child raising is not the child but the parent.”Frank Pittman, Man Enough

“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers.  Strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”Barbara Katz Rothman

    “Every once in awhile you encounter a level of service that just blows you away. And after you have had time to reflect on that service you let everyone else know where they too can experience that same service. I can whole heartedly recommend the Baby Place and the Midwives there. Their service was phenomenal , encompassing not only mother and child but attention was afforded to me as well. I can honestly say that throughout the pregnancy and during the birth that I felt completely confident that Coleen and the other midwives had everything in control and accounted for.” - Johnny K.
